World AIDS Observation Day at Sharadha Terry Products Limited Mettupalyam on 23.12.2017

Introduction:
As a part of World AIDS Day on December 1st, there was World AIDS Observation day recognized at Sharadha Terry Products Limited on 23/12/17, in collaboration with Native Medicare Charitable Trust Coimbatore.

Ms. Divya a trainee from the industry guided all the volunteers.
Morning Session:
All the members and volunteers assembled around 9:30 am in morning at the industry.
The program began at around 10:00 am with the workers and the members.
The program was inaugurated by Mr. Srikumar. He explained the need of the day’s event and presented the agenda to the gathering.

The event began with Tamilthai Valzthu.
 Inaugural Address:

The welcome address was proposed by the General Manager of the Saradha Terry Products Limited Mr. Prathapkumar.
The inaugural address was delivered by Finance Manager of the Sharadha Terry Products Limited MR. Rajkumar, followed by Safety engineer Nazar Ali.
Street Theatre: 

Around 10:30 am the field work trainee students from various colleges performed a street theatre. The street theatre was performed to show case and create awareness on HIV/AIDS among the workers in the industry.
The street theatre provided awareness how HIV/AIDS is spread. In what ways it is not spread. The play also imparted the pro and corns of HIV/AIDS.
The street theatre was followed by a small poem by Mr. Muruganatham field work trainee from Kongu College.
The street play was performed by Subiksha, Yazhini, Vinodh of PSGCAS, Yazhinidevi, Vaishnavi of Mahendra College, Muruganatham, selvabarathi by Kongu College.
·        Medical camp:
Medical camp was organized to check of HIV/AIDS by NMCT-TANSACS Project with DAPCU for the workers.
The medical team was assisted by Mr.Kumanan. Mr. Arivalaghan and his team.
The medical team consisted of doctor and counselor.

·         Medical camp participants:
The medical camp participants were migrant and non -migrant workers. There was no hesitation by the workers to take on the test. Everyone participated in their test by their own wish.
·         Refreshment activities:
            Refreshment activities were conducted by Mr.Srikumar and few other field work trainees. The winners of games received prizes.
Evening session:
The same was continued after the lunch.  The camp ended at around 4:00 pm.
Valediction:
The valediction started around 4:15 pm.
Mr.Prathakumar amd Mr. Nazar Ali thanked the whole team for bringing awareness and arranging a program at their industry. Mr.Srikumar gave away the vote of thanks.
There was decision taken to organize another camp on some other day with the left out workers.
